Consiliae v2, rebuilt from your feedback
We rebuilt Consiliae from the ground up after too many of you told us you were not sure where to click next. The biggest change is not a feature, it is that you can now tell what every screen is asking of you.
The honest reason for it: too many of you told us you were not sure where to click next, or what a screen wanted from you. A few of you said it politely. A few of you did not, which was more useful. Either way, that is our failure, not yours.
There is a particular kind of tiredness that comes from fighting an interface. It uses the same attention the maths needs. If you spend the first ten minutes working out what a button does, you arrive at the actual problem already spent, and the session that was meant to move you forward becomes the session you do not repeat.
So we rebuilt the product around one rule.
You should never have to figure out Consiliae before you can figure out the maths.
What changed
1. Everything is where you would expect it
Fewer screens, fewer steps, plainer words. You open it and you know what to do. Where we previously had two ways of doing something, we picked one and deleted the other.
2. A clearer way in
The scan and your first session were rebuilt end to end. You go from "where do I start" to actually learning in minutes, rather than reading about how the map works before you have seen your own.
3. A warmer look
New colours, new type. The map finally feels like a place rather than a spreadsheet. This sounds like decoration and it is not. If a thing looks like admin, you treat it like admin.
4. Concept lists you can print
Preview your route, download the list, put it on the fridge. Several of you asked for something you could hold, mark up and cross off, away from a screen. That was a good instinct and we should have thought of it first.
What did not change
The map is still the map. Every concept is still a node, every line is still a prerequisite, and your route is still only the parts you are missing, in the order they build. Spaced review still brings concepts back before you would lose them.
None of that needed rebuilding, because none of that was the problem. The problem was the distance between you and it.
Tell us what we got wrong
This version came straight from your feedback, so please keep it coming.
Reply with anything: a suggestion, a bug, something that still feels off but you cannot quite name. Half-formed is fine. The three of us read every note personally and we come back within 24 hours.
We are still three people with more conviction than capital, building this in the open, and the fastest way we improve is that you tell us where it is still hard.
Thanks for learning with us while the paint dries.
Go and have a look at v2, and tell us what we missed.
Micky, Cofounder

The scan takes about a minute and finds the first concept you are actually missing. Review is already built into whatever route it draws.
